Ultomiris Infusion Therapy

Ultomiris (ravulizumab-cwvz) is a long-acting complement inhibitor used to treat conditions like PNH, aHUS, gMG, and NMOSD. It works by inhibiting the C5 protein in the complement system, reducing inflammation and cell damage associated with these diseases.

Ultomiris is given as an intravenous infusion. The dosing schedule varies:

• PNH and aHUS: Maintenance doses every 8 weeks for adults and every 4 or 8 weeks for pediatric patients.
• gMG: Maintenance doses every 8 weeks after an initial loading dose.
• NMOSD: Maintenance doses every 8 weeks after the initial loading dose.

During your infusion, you will relax in a comfortable chair while the medication is administered slowly into your vein. The session typically lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your weight and the specific dosing regimen.

Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea
• Upper respiratory tract infections
